The Other Side

The Other SideFrom My Side of the Fence

Okay Ruth, here is the deal......we are never happy,, no matter what. Not you specfically, I mean all of us, this creature called human.
If I had my way about it I wouldn't be on the truck at all, I would be in my kitchen deciding on what to fix for supper. But as fate,(or *&^#@!&*$#@#@) would have it , if I dont get out there, then there wont be anything to put on the table.
My role as mother has never been a chore or a bother. Dont get me wrong there have been many many times that I KNEW I was loosing my mind as I tried to be father too, a woman just cant fit that mold no matter how she tries.
As best as you can muster, relish and enjoy the days, even when you are too pooped to cook and clean and answer stupid questions. Plop a jar of peanut butter and jelly and a loaf of bread on the table and call it supper. If the dishes dont get done who really cares anyway? All too soon my dear sister, even your little girl will think she can tackle the world without you and all you have left are the memories of the laughter and the good times that you used to have around that now empty table, an empty bedroom that you wish was a little messy, proof that someone was there since the last time you were, and a house so quiet you can hear your own heart beat. Its no fun, believe me!!! "Mom" is such loaded word, sometimes we are overwhelmed with the load but it doesnt last a lifetime. Thats why God gave us grandchildren, so we could do it all over again!! Cant wait till mine get big enough to eat the cookies I'm gonna make for them, cant wait till they get big enough to make messes that I can clean up, cant wait till I have to pick up toys again.... cant wait..cant wait!!!! I wish they all lived in Ky!!

Ok, I see what you mean. I will try not to complain and remember to enjoy a little more.I have often thought about how when I am 65 I will wish for the days when I was 45 again so I try to enjoy being 45 as much as possible and I am having a ball!

You nailed me Rachel, and put a lump in my throat, I'm going right to Timmy's room and see if he's asleep yet, pronto.

So glad that you have joined in on the blogging. Love hearing from you!

What company are you driving for? Bobby drives for Estes. It takes around 2 hours to get to Richmond. David has been talking about us doing team driving but neither one of us has a CDL anymore. Stay safe out there! We love you!

Rachel, we're talking about having a 'Ladies Tea' some time, it's still in the planning stages. I just thought it would be nice if we all hand made a gift to exchange, just for fun. We have some time yet.
