Angels on Jelico Mountain

Five of heavens finest stood quitely, waiting for instructions. "She is going to need special help tonight", The Master gently told them, "go and take care of my child".
Alexander, Raymuth, Pete, Leftus and Curley new what they had to do and as she reached the bottom of the hill they were there too. The road was clear but the radio had warned that snow was moving in and could possibly be heavy at times. Traffic was light but seemed to be moving slower, she followed suit and shifted into a lower gear for the steep incline ahead. As she came around a sharp bend in the road she realized that she was going to encounter a situtation she was not going to enjoy. Alexander took his position on the front right corner, Raymuth on the left front corner, Pete and Leftus were in the rear and curley was assigned to the inside of the cab. Snow was begining to lightly cover the road. No problems she thought, but as quickly as she said that, the roads were covered in a slush so thick the lanes were not even distinguishable. Alexander and Raymuth quickly took over and guided the truck close to the right side of the road. The hill became steeper and steeper in the night and the snow was falling so heavy by now that visability was only about two feet in front of the truck.
"Alexander", Curley breathed quietly as not to startle the driver, "Do you think she can see us "? "No", he replied, "But she knows we are here because she asked The Master to send us to her to guide her across the mountain". About that time Raymuth seemed to disappear for an instant. "Where did you go"? Curley asked. Raymuth replied with a grin, "This side needed a bit of attention, did you see that black pickup fly by like he was in a hurry or something"? "He will need some help if he doesnt slow down", Curley answered.
The steep climb up the slick dark mountain and the sharp left curve had caused her to shift into an even lower gear, she was barley crawling at 10 miles an hour, when suddenly the black pickup that was in such a hurry appeared in the headlights just inches from the front bumper. Alexander quickly possitioned himself between the two vehicles and the pickup started to slide to the right and out of her way. "Try that again and you will find yourself in the ditch". Pete stated with a chuckle, "Don't you know better than to mess with Alexander, especially when he is working"? Inside the cab, Curley was ever so gently whispering in her ear, "We are here, take your time and don't pay any attention to the line of traffic behind you, they shouldn't be going any faster any way". The road seemed to level out, and with a break in the snowfall, cars began to pass the trucks. "Oh, thats not wise, not at all," Pete told Leftus. "Watch this car, spin out," Leftus answered. The truck began to slide as she touched the breaks to avoid a car that had stopped in front of her. "I'll handle this one", Pete said calmly as he gently pushed the truck back into position, "And we'll have no more of that",he added, matter of factly. "That wasn't so bad", Curley whispered,"But don't touch that break again, just let off the accelerator". "We are here, and we will get you accross this mountain".
"Accident ahead, north bound side, semi crosswise in the road, cars piled up behind it, everybody break"! the c b radio broke the silence. As her truck neared the "accident location" there was only one van pulling a trailer that had moved closer to the side. "Slow and steady, slow and steady," Curley whispered . A little farther down the hill a white pickup truck kissed the center divider, but there was plenty of room to get around him.
She looked at the clock, 2 1/2 hours had gone by since she started up the mountain, and now it seemed the worst was behind her. Alexander, Raymuth, Pete, Leftus and Curley knew she would make it, but they stayed with her for the rest of her journey. There were still patches of snow and ice that she would have to get past, and the mountain had left her weary. She would need them for the four hours she still had before she got home.
At 6:00 am as she slipped into her own bed and pulled the covers up close. "Listen to my child,"The Master himself stated, as they heard her say, "Thank you Lord, for sending your angels to guide me across Jelico Mountain". She fell peacefully asleep.

Don't know about you guys but that was a very, very good story, hard to read through without a lump in the throat. If we only realized all the times we've had 'devine' intervention on our behalf and didn't know it or even give it a thought. To think, He cares and loves us that much. He sends us His biggest and finest, to do for us what we need. Maybe we don't even know what we need, but Heavens Best Helpers are with us to see us through the rough spots. Thank you for sharing your story. It blessed me and renewed my faith in Him.

It's a comforting thought to know you have 'company' while you are out and about.
