Last Thurs night my dispatcher called and said they had a load for a tractor but it wouldn't all fit on the trailer and wanted to know if I would take the overflow of 6 skids. Being last minute I hadn't had any sleep and would have to drive all night, but since I didn't have many miles that week I said yes. It rained most of the way and when I got almost there I had three extra hours before they opened so I did get some sleep after all. Since it was raining so hard I didn't want to take the extra time to find the steps up to the unloading dock so I climbed up the back of my truck like I do a lot of times. But......... on the way down , one foot went one way the other foot went the other way and I nearly did the splits in the mud. I recovered my dignity the best I could and got in my truck and got home Friday night. Saturday I borrowed Davids car ( cause mine still sits in the driveway and wont start) and went to the grocery store and did some other running. By the time I got home my hip and leg were hurting I almost hired the neighbor boys to carry in my groceries. I lay on the heating pad all the rest of the day. Monday I had David take me to the chiropractor, and was supposed to go back on Wed. He told me not to sit much for the next couple of days if I could help it. He knows what my job is and said to just be careful. Tuesday I got the call to go to White Plains, Md. 644 miles, 10 hours, if I drive without stopping. So I stopped at Walmart, picked up some pain pills and away I went. By the time I got back last night I was hurting so bad I was sick to my stomach. I sat in a hot bath this morn but it hasn't helped much. I have to wait till David gets off work at 3:30 to take me to Dr. again. Man what a week!!!!! Lois you are so in my thoughts, I hope you are feeling much better. The only good thing about all this is I have AFLAC and they will pay me back and then some for all the Dr. bills. Getting old isn't all its cracked up to be. I'm only ** years old I should be able to jump off the dock and do the splits on purpose!!!! Right?

dDoing the splits on PURPOSE?? I couldn't do the splits when I was 14!! Sorry that you got hurt. I hope nothing was broken, and you are feeling better by now.
I think of you often, 'out' there in the winter weather. I hope that you haven't gotten stuck in any blizzard or bad weather. Happy truckin' and stay safe.
I AGREE GETTING OLD IS FOR THE BIRDS ! AND ANYTHING ELSE HANDY.
