Gods Traffic Jam

Do you believe that God would use the foolishness of one person to benefit another? Well the month of June will be one eventful month for me. It has helped me to see the hand of God in ways that I normally wouldn't consider as a blessing.

No, my truck still isn't repaired so on Thursday I set out for a routine run to New Jersey. I was in another old beater truck but not the one that broke down in South Carolina. As I was heading out of town I noticed that the air conditioner was not cooling so I turned around and went back to the shop. After about 30 minutes of charging the mechanic said I would have to turn it down in a bit cause it would get really cold, but... after an hour or so it still didn't. I couldn't wait any longer so I started out and hoped the weather wasn't too hot in NJ.
Most of the way Thursday night it rained so it wasn't unbearably hot, the night was cool so I didn't even need the truck running while I slept. Friday morning was cool for a while, I even wore long sleeves. Then about noon the sun woke up and the temp started to rise.
I chugged water and had to stop at every rest stop, sometimes just to cool off. I was dreading going through Baltimore Maryland because the traffic is always so heavy and if I had to slow down there wouldn't be any air at all.
It seemed like every time I started to get really really hot then the sky would open up with a thunder shower . I kept rolling along and to my surprise Baltimore was not jammed up with traffic. I made it past the toll booths and had two hours to spare before my appointment time to unload when........ 19 miles before the bridge to cross into New Jersey ..... TRAFFIC STOPPED... ALL LANES EITHER STOPPED OR CRAWLING. I tried to find a local radio station to get the scoop because it was too early for rush hour traffic. The radio was too staticy so I really didn't know what was going on. I was so hot that I was becoming sick to my stomach and was dizzy, I was afraid I would have to pull off the road but there was no place to go to get out of the heat. So I crawled along with the rest of the traffic. THEN at the point that I was about to despair, because of the exhaust fumes and the heat, I began to feel cool air. I couldn't believe it !!!!!! Where was it comming from? Yes, my air conditioner was working! I rolled up my windows and in about 10 minutes was comfortably cool. And for the next 11 miles and 1 1/2 hours I was one cool cucumber. All around me other drivers patients were wearing thin and their temperatures were rising with frustration. I did find out eventually that a pick up truck hauling a full size mobile home across the bridge had turned over and was blocking all 4 lanes. The only reason we were still moving at all is because people were taking alternate routes to get where they were going. For me there was no alternate route or at least I didn't know one. But I wasn't frustrated at all, I was cool and had two hours to spare .
I finally got to my destination exactly 2 hours later and unloaded, went to Pilot for fuel and went to bed without another thought about the traffic tie up, after all they are not uncommon and if you spend as much time on the road as I do they are quiet frequent .

At 5: 00 the next morning going 65 mph on the same stretch of road that was 5 mph the night before I had an awakening like I wont soon forget. It was as though I heard a voice say "How did you like that traffic jam I made for you yesterday, you needed to cool off and that did the trick".
Well that got me to thinking and the question came to mind, "Does God really care about our every little need, does He have a sense of humor and laugh at our silly mistakes and does He ever take one persons misfortune and use it to the advantage of someone else? Well, I think yes. And I also think it happens more often than we give Him credit for. I need to look for the small things and remember to give God thanks for every one of them.

Disclaimer: I'm not a preacher and don't play one on TV. I just know what works for me.

P.S. The air conditioner didn't work a lick all the way home, go figure that one out.

I like your thoughts on this. God moves in mysterious ways, and we don't see what he does for us. Often we are completely unaware of it, other than being blessed in the end. Thanks for posting. I hope you have a truck with a working air conditioner now!

That is really strange, for most A/Cs end up causing the vehicle to run hot and you have to turn it off in a traffic jam! Glad you had a safe trip.
